Automatic Iron and Manganese Removal Well Water Filter System
This industrial water treatment system features reverse osmosis technology designed for hard water applications with maximum pressure capabilities ranging from 1000 to 100,000 Psi. The system effectively removes iron and manganese from groundwater sources.
Iron and Manganese Filter Overview
Groundwater in many regions contains elevated levels of iron (5-15mg/L, up to 20-39mg/L) and manganese (0.5-2.0mg/L, sometimes exceeding 2.0mg/L). When iron exceeds standards, it exists as Fe2+, making water appear clear initially but causing turbidity and ferruginous odors over time. Fe2+ can contaminate ion exchange resins and reverse osmosis membranes, while iron-containing water in boiler systems leads to scaling and corrosion.
Our iron and manganese removal filter combines oxidation, ion replacement, retention, and clarification processes. The system utilizes aeration technology where oxygen converts bivalent iron and manganese into Fe(OH)3 and MnO2. Depending on concentration levels, we employ jet aeration or hollow multi-faceted ball aeration with single or multi-stage filtration to achieve reliable, stable results meeting national drinking water standards (iron ≤0.3mg/L, manganese ≤0.1mg/L).

Many municipalities and industrial facilities using groundwater sources face iron content challenges typically ranging from 2-16mg/L. After treatment with our system, iron content is reduced to ≤0.3mg/L, fully compliant with GB5749-85 national drinking water quality standards.

Multi-Media Filtration System
This system removes suspended matter, particles, colloids, turbidity, and chromaticity from raw water. It effectively filters particles, algae, and other visible matter through advanced micro-flocculation filtration using multiple layers of specialized media. The multi-media filter ensures SDI values ≤4, providing essential protection for downstream RO systems with low operational costs and easy maintenance.
Backwash cycles occur every 16-48 hours, controlled by pressure parameters and automated sequencing for backwash, operation, and forward wash processes.
